So yeah....had a date with
mamabear176 last night. It was groovy fun. We came up with a not new theory that boys are dumb. (no offense to the boys out there) Perhaps boys are not necessarily dumb, just the ones I tend to spend time with. :)
Then I headed over to Espresso Royale to get some hot tea as I had time to kill after calling
aerospcgrl to ask her a question I still haven't asked. Ended up meeting up with her and a friend to see Pride and Prejudice.
Seeing period films makes me want to talk all proper and what not. However I'm sure my lack of editing will make that not possible.
My review is that although I was vaguely familiar with the story having never read the book, I found it to be quite amusing. I always love a nice female character with a sharp tongue and a strong personality. Hence the reason I love Beatrice so much from Much Ado. However, given the week I've been having, it was probably not the best choice of film for myself. The reason I found it amusing had little to do with the presentation as the interactions between Mr. Darcy & Elizabeth. The looks, the awkward conversations, etc all very amusing and seem somewhat close to real life for me at times. Then of course there is the most important moment when Mr. Darcy comes from the fog with his long coat swaying behind him and his hair tousled just so to approach Elizabeth and profess his undying love. And I must be feeling quite jaded at the moment because the only thing that entered my mind was "this is the biggest crock of bullshit I've ever heard! (well I suppose I've heard things to rival this, but not the point)" I would explain why, but I'm not in mood.
However I did have a nice walk back to my car in the freezing cold. It's amazing how fast I can actually walk when I feel like a popcicle. And then I had all sorts of unpleasant thoughts riddle my mind that seemed way more important at the time, but now I just want to go to sleep so I shall. Thank you and good night!
But overall, I'm feeling better. Just to let you know. A minor set back is all.
